Jonathan Adams was born on June 4th, 1963 ( aged 46 years ) in West Chester, Pennsylvania to a single parent home. He grew up around music all of the time and at the young age of five, decided he wanted to become a musician. After he badgered his mother for two years, she bought him his very first guitar. It was an acoustic guitar, but it sufficed enough for him. He learned how to play and cited Jimi Hendrix as his favorite guitarist, being a huge influence on him growing up.
As the days and years of his life passed on, he became more and more skilled under the guitar and bought his own Les Paul model guitar. He knew he wanted to be a musician as his chosen profession and as luck would have it, he hit it big when Trapper Martin of New Jersey was looking to put a band together. Adams was visiting Jersey at the time and saw the ad that Martin had put out for the world to see. He inquired about it and wound up as the lead guitarist for the band Primal Scream.
Primal Scream were discovered, signed and busted their behinds to make the best albums and tours that they could. They achieved super star status for their hard rock and glam music that the world seemed happy to take in at a dark time in music when grunge was starting to take over. The band sold tons of albums, sold out arenas night in and night out and were globally known as the "masters of disaster" for their epic stage shows and fast history of drinking and drug use.
In the midst of all of the crazy, Jonathan managed to meet a woman that he thought was the woman of his dreams. They shared just about everything, including one daughter named Wednesday Adams ( which contrary to popular belief, she was named after the day Wednesday and not the character on the Addams Family. ) Shortly after she was born, his wife left him with their daughter and never returned. This would be the start of a somewhat downhill stint for Jonathan.
The next set of bad news was that he was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. A disease that started destroying his spine, making it painful to move. Just after finding this out, Primal Scream fizzled into the music scene with the arrival of boy bands and the X generation that was all about pop. This would push him into his new course of life: politics.
Due to his inability to move very well, he needed a new hobby. He was very into politics and found himself back in his home town of West Chester, Pennsylvania. He ran for Mayor and is now holding that seat. His daughter, Wednesday also lives in West Chester. Jonathan has done amazing things for the town such as keeping the streets clean, getting parks back for children and helping school funding for better education. He's also working on restoring music departments and courses in school.
His diagnosed ankylosing spondylitis has grown worse to the point where he can't even move his neck anymore and all of this caused him to get a hip replacement. A short few weeks post surgery, he recieved a call from Trapper Martin, his former band mate and recieved news that he was getting the guys back together for a reunion tour and a compilation album of their greatest hits. Desptie the surgery that he just had, Jonathan happily obliged to this request and will be joining Primal Scream on tour for the first time in over ten years.
